Root coverage

Gum recession can be generalised or isolated to one or few teeth. In many cases, we can replace the missing gum tissues to enhance aesthetics and reduce sensitivity through root coverage procedures. There are different techniques in achieving root coverage, however, the whole idea is that gum tissue is harvested from somewhere in the mouth (usually the roof of the mouth) and grafted over the exposed root surface(s). The graft is left to heal and once it heals, this tissue is very stable and unlikely to recede any further.
